I also offer a supportive and affirming space for neurodivergent individuals, including those who are autistic, have ADHD, or are exploring whether they may be neurodivergent.
Neurodiversity refers to the natural differences in how people think, process information, communicate and experience the world. Being neurodivergent is not something that needs to be “fixed” — it is simply a different way of experiencing life.
However, many neurodivergent people can face challenges such as:
- Feeling overwhelmed or easily overstimulated
- Anxiety in social situations
- Difficulty with focus, organisation or executive functioning (common in ADHD)
- Sensory sensitivities
- Burnout from masking or trying to “fit in”
- Low self-esteem or feeling misunderstood
- Emotional regulation difficulties
- Struggles in school, work or relationships
Counselling can provide a space where you do not need to mask or hide who you are. Instead, we can explore your experiences in a way that feels safe, respectful and validating.
I work in a neurodiversity-affirming way, which means I focus on understanding your individual needs, strengths and experiences rather than trying to change who you are. Together, we can explore coping strategies, build self-acceptance and support you in navigating a world that may not always feel designed for you.
Whether you have a diagnosis of ADHD, autism, are awaiting assessment, or simply relate to neurodivergent traits, you are welcome here.
