
Sometimes we need physical space to find mental space.
I offer the opportunity to take counselling out of the confines of our homes or office space. I find walking is a great release and hope that offering this to my clients will give them the same sense of grounding and freedom.
We can take the same route each time or we can alter the route, perhaps a new setting will help you look at things in a new light. We would start our walk from my office in Bubwith, East Riding of Yorkshire.
Mental health charity Mind carried out extensive research, which showed that walking in the countryside could help reduce depression and anxiety. In their survey, they reported that 71% of respondents felt decreased depression and less tense after a “green” walk, while 90% felt their self-esteem increase after a country walk.
